Cherry Blossoms and new friends

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and are beautiful as usual. Too bad it was quite cool out today, especially with the wind.

Kelley and Billy met us at the cherry blossoms and then we hung out afterwards at our house and had some dinner. Here is Maddie and Owen with their new friend Nicholas. I thought that Owen was small, but he looks huge sitting next to Nicholas who is only 6 weeks old!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Olden!

A big congrats to Annee and Steve! They got married last night and are now on their way to a much warmer place than here right now! The wedding was great and everything was perfect!

Owen's 1st trip to the zoo

It was such a nice day today the kids and I decided to go to the zoo. We took the Metro which Maddie loved because she is a big fan of "choo choo trains"! Owen enjoyed himself and smiled at everyone, as usual!

Maddie loved seeing all the animals and she named them all too! She decided to become a bit too independent in the Ape house and run away from me. It was so crowded and I couldn't move with the big stroller, but some nice man was able to grab Maddie before she could run out the door! (The harness came out after that...) Other than a little sunburned neck, it was a perfect day!

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter to everyone! Here are some pictures from our day.

Maddie's 1st "real" haircut

We took Maddie to the "real" hairdresser on Friday night to even out the hair cut that we gave her a few months ago. She did really well. Instead of a chair to sit in to get your hair washed, they have a table that the little kids lay on. Maddie climbed right up (mostly because she thought it was a slide) but she wasn't so sure about having her hair washed. Then she sat "all by myself" in the big chair and was reasonably still while having her hair cut. Our camera ran out of batteries so we don't have a picture of the final "do" but it's cute. Maddie even had her hair dried and put in a barrette to go!

Easter Pictures

I decided a few weeks ago that I would try to get some cute pictures of the kids for Easter. Owen was not a big fan of the Easter basket though...

Last week, Ben saw that the Easter Bunny was coming to our local Mc Donalds for "free" pictures. It only cost us 2 happy meals in 3 days (one on picture day and one on the day we picked the picture up)... Here is Maddie with the Easter Bunny! I guess the Easter Bunny is not as scary as Santa Claus because Maddie walked right up to him by herself. She especially liked picking out her "measter egg" afterwards.

As I was going through some pictures recently (I am slowly getting caught up with my scrapbooking) I found this picture of Elias holding Josiah when he was first born. I thought it was pretty cute next to this one of Maddie holding Owen!
Happy Easter to everyone!

Wedding Shower

This past weekend Owen and I headed up to Boston for Aunt Kristen and Uncle Scott's wedding shower. Even with the pouring rain we had a good turn out and lots of fun! Owen did great on his first plane rides despite a 2 hour delay one way and a 1 1/2 hour delay the other. He laughed and smiled at anyone who would look at him! The only part he cried for was the last 5 minutes of the flight each way as we descended quickly for landing. Maddie stayed here and had some quality time with Daddy! We had a nice weekend and were glad we could make it up north. Congrats again Kristen and Scott!... The countdown is on!

This past week

Last Saturday Ben was on call and had to carry the pager so I slept on the couch because I didn't want the pager to wake Owen up every time it went off. Sunday morning the kids and I had some lazy time playing in bed since Ben had to work again.

Like Mommy, Like Daughter

We had a post a few months back with a picture of Daddy when he was little and how much Maddie looked like him... now it's Mommy's turn. Thanks Papa for the picture!
