11 months old

Only one more month and our little munchkin will be 1! It's hard to believe! Avery is great! She has such a good nature and personality but definately has her likes and dislikes. She will shake her head yes or no to tell you what food she wants to eat. It's really quite funny. She has (finally) decided that she likes the bottle, but no longer will eat baby food (not even the homemade kind). I guess I can't really blame her. She will stand, briefly, by herself but has not taken any steps yet, though she will walk a little pushing a toy or walker around. She adores her big brothers and sister and they love taking care of her. Here are a few pictures until next month!

10 months old!

I have to say I haven't taken many pictures this month because we've been preoccupied with our renovations (more pictures to come soon), but here are a few. Avery is becoming such a "big girl". She loves to stand and pull herself up on things though she has not ventured to take a few steps. Sometimes she will let go but only until she actually realizes that she is not holding on to anything! We have been enjoying the beautiful weather here though I discovered yesterday that Avery is NOT a fan of the beach... she cried each time I tried to put her down. I don't think she liked the feel of the sand! The first picture is Avery checking out the fish at the aquarium in CT when we visited Aunt Kristen, Uncle Scott and cousin Riley! The others are of Avery enjoying the unseasonably warm weather this week. She loved her first swing ride too!

Renovation: Week 1 1/2

9 months old!

Another month has past and our little goose is 9 months old! Avery has now mastered crawling and is pulling herself up on things, but has not (to our surprise) ventured to take any steps yet... we'll give it another month or so and I'm sure she will! Nothing really big to report here. We've had our share of illness this month so we've played it pretty low key. Here are some pictures though so you can see what a big girl Avery is becoming!

8 months old already... and Christmas pictures!

It is hard to believe that our little Avery is already 8 months old! She is so good. She is full of personality and just smiles at everything! I am always awed when I realize that she is experiencing everything for the very first time... and she has had quite a few firsts this past month! This was her first Christmas, her 1st cousin on my side of the family was born, she had her 1st ear infection, her first 6, yes SIX, teeth, and she has started to crawl! The sweetest thing lately is the way she giggles uncontrollably when Cole gives her "raspberries or zerbils" on her belly... too cute! I've included some Christmas pictures of all of us also... enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

Well 4 years ago, just about now, we were headed to the hospital in Virginia as we prepared to welcome our 2nd baby into our lives! Our little man Owen will be 4 years old tomorrow! It seems just like yesterday that the nurse handed him to us with his little Santa hat on. He was the smallest at birth, weighing only 7 lbs 3 ounces... we used to call him "chicken legs". Not anymore though. Our baby boy now weighs almost 40 lbs and is almost as tall as his older sister! Though still our shyest and most sensitive, Owen is really coming into his own. He loves superheros, trains, trucks, coloring, building things, playing pirates and just about everything else. He is an awesome big brother to Avery... he would do anything for her! He won't start Pre-K until next fall, when he is almost 5, but he is ready and excited to learn anything that anyone will teach him! He is also super excited that he has learned to write his name recently!

I heard this song, "I've Been Watching You" by Rodney Atkins, about 2 years ago and have been waiting since then to use it in Owen's birthday video, since it talks about his 4 year old boy. Ben does not care for country songs, but I thought it was perfect since Owen (well all the kids really) watch everything that Ben does and just loves to spend time with him doing anything from watching TV, to reading stories, to making dinner, to fixing the lawn mower, to hanging Christmas lights, etc, etc... (you get the point)!
